Colour arrives slowly here — coaxed from leaf, root and flower, deepening over days in the dye house until the cloth holds a tone no machine can imitate. Nothing is hurried, and nothing is made twice the same way.
Every piece here begins in a landscape — the grasslands and riverine forests that run from the Dooars of North Bengal into Assam. Once-degraded stretches of this belt are greening again, and the colour in our cloth is drawn from that returning wilderness: leaf, bark, root and flower gathered with care, season by season.
From the Dooars to the foothills of Assam, this is one of the richest biodiversity corridors in the subcontinent. Its recovering forests give us our botanical palette — and every dye lot carries the memory of a particular season, a particular grove.
The cloth is ethnically woven by Indigenous Bodo and Karbi communities of Assam — forest-based artisans whose looms have carried motif, rhythm and lineage for generations. Their skill is not a technique we borrowed; it is the heart of the collection.
Woven heritage cloth then travels to Bengal, where traditional block-printing and hand-painted artistry lay wildflowers, birds and folk geometry across it. Two living traditions, meeting on a single length of fabric.
